Her first year as a Pompano Beach city commissioner, Audrey Fesik failed to show up for work at least 15% of the time. She simply did not come to work. She missed more official city commission meetings than all the other commissioners in the history of their time in office!
Why you ask? That’s a good question. The first time Audrey said she had a ‘family emergency’ but it was later discovered she was on a cruise. A cruise! With dancing, drinks, buffets, and ocean breezes – instead of doing the hard work you elected her to do. The other times she didn’t bother to offer excuses – just didn’t show – but in truth she was on a European vacation during budget hearings.
And when she does show up, she doesn’t always stay for the whole meeting – more than once she has gotten up and walked out when she doesn’t like what she hears. She wasn’t elected to have tantrums and walk out when she doesn’t get her way. So much for her claims of transparency.
Seems like a great very part-time gig if you can get it. We deserve better. And while we are on the topic of being paid to not show up, wait until you see how much money she is costing you in the next file.
